  After traveling over 30 hours from Canada, we arrived at the hotel around 3:30 am on a Saturday. The hotel was not full and our room was available. The reception wanted 50% rack rate for early check in. After explaining that this is a normal courtesy extended by other competitors in this class of hotels, I was referred to the night supervisor. The supervisor then raised the price to 100% rack for checkin now and 50% rack at 5 am. I asked to speak to the Duty Manager. The Duty Manager then raised the price to 100% rack for check in now, 50% rack at 8 am, and normal checkin at Noon. Their rack rate was significantly higher than the rate that I booked and prepaid for. I feel this is "souk" bargaining at its worst when they know the tired travelers have virtually no options. We ended up sitting in the lobby until 5 am and then paid 260 AED "ransom" to get into our room for some much needed sleep.

  A cheap hotel dressed up as a nice one. desk staff good, concierge worthless at all hours. rooms cheap and ready to come apart. smokers everywhere in public spaces. lots ...

  A cheap hotel dressed up as a nice one. Desk staff good, concierge worthless at all hours. Rooms cheap and ready to come apart. Smokers everywhere in public spaces. Lots of rude French with screaming kids out of control (obviously not hotel's fault).
  
  Breakfast buffet a rip-off. Wasn't included in my room fare and I made mistake in paying for it.
  
  Internet was also extra and very expensive.
  
  Fairly difficult ot get a taxi and, as it is oisolated like much of Dubai, this can be a real headache.

  We only had 24 hours and this location was great to see everything. hotel very nice. cab's cheap.
